Mr. Hossein Amir-Abdollahian received Khalid al-Qaddumi, HAMAS representative in Tehran on Wednesday evening where he underlined that Iran’s unwavering support would continue for Palestinians as part of Iran’s foreign policy in the region; “we support any measure which improves Palestinian cause; however, recent crisis in the region has weakened Islamic Umma further, with Zionist regime working to create rift among the Muslim nations and benefit from the turmoil of a sectarian war of Islamic denominations,” he told the meeting. “Nations of the region should abort such attempts by unity and acting proactively in the face of conspiracy through dialogue and understanding of the realities on the ground.”
“The US and Zionists have been behind the emergence of petty extremists in the region; Palestinian issue should remain the first and foremost issue of the Islamic world and should not be allowed to fall into the peripheries,” Amir-Abdollahian added.
Mr. al-Qaddumi for his part, hailed Iran’s support for Palestinians; “Iran has been in the forefront of protecting Palestine as part of its conviction to support the world’s downtrodden; holding of the Intifada conference in Tehran would provide an opportunity for lovers of Palestine to come together and exchange opinions; it would be also an excellent ground for Palestinian public as well to evince the atrocities Israel inflicted upon them to the world public,” he added.
